The Fear of Yah

The Fear of Yah

Proverbs 9:10 (NKJV)

“The fear of Yah is the beginning of wisdom,
And the knowledge of the Set-apart One is understanding.

Definition: Fear- reverence for Yah
To begin to understand or commit to the Torah (the law- first five books of the bible) is to have reverence for the Almighty Yah. If you do not have faith Yah is real and the Creator of all things and that Yahushua died for our sins you will not take seriously what you must do to receive the gift of salvation. This is the beginning of wisdom and the understanding to listen to the voice of Yah, to walk as Yahushua did and apply what The Word teaches us to do in order to obtain righteousness through the power of the Set-apart Spirit.

The Essence of the Law

Deuteronomy 10:12-13
12 “And now, Israel, what does the Most High, Yah require of you, but to fear the Most High, Yah to walk in all His ways and to love Him, to serve the Most High, Yah with all your heart and with all your soul, 13 and to keep the commandments of Yah and His statutes which I command you today for your good?

Deuteronomy 6:6-9
6 “And these words which I command you today shall be in your heart. 7 You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, when you walk by the way, when you lie down, and when you rise up. 8 You shall bind them as a sign on your hand, and they shall be as frontlets between your eyes. 9 You shall write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates.

Matthew 22:37-40 (NKJV)
35 Then one of them, a lawyer, asked Him a question, testing Him, and saying, 36 “Teacher, which is the great commandment in the law?”

37 Yahushua said to him, “‘You shall love Yah with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.’ 38 This is the first and great commandment. 39 And the second is like it: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ 40 On these two commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets.”

1 Timothy 1:5 (NKJV)
5 Now the purpose of the commandment is love from a pure heart, from a good conscience, and from sincere faith,

These are just a few of the scriptures that encompass some of the laws and commandments of Yah that we must follow diligently, teach them to our children and apply them to our life. Without them how can we be set apart from the unrighteous? It is obvious without Yahushua’s example and the set apart spirit of Yah we can’t do it on our own. Yahushua spoke of sending the Set-apart spirit to help teach and guide us to all truth.

John 15:26 (NKJV)
26 “But when the Helper comes, whom I shall send to you from the Father, the Spirit of truth who proceeds from the Father, He will testify of Me.

Acts 2 (NKJV)
Coming of the Set apart Spirit
2 When the Day of Pentecost had fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. 2 And suddenly there came a sound from heaven, as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled the whole house where they were sitting. 3 Then there appeared to them divided tongues, as of fire, and one sat upon each of them. 4 And they were all filled with the Set-apart Spirit and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.

It is the fear of Yah that will inspire us to remain steadfast and obedient to what is expected of us according to His Word.

James 1:21-23 (NKJV)
Doers—Not Hearers Only
21 Therefore lay aside all filthiness and overflow of wickedness, and receive with meekness the implanted word, which is able to save your souls.
22 But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves. 23 For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man observing his natural face in a mirror; 24 for he observes himself, goes away, and immediately forgets what kind of man he was. 25 But he who looks into the perfect law of liberty and continues in it, and is not a forgetful hearer but a doer of the work, this one will be blessed in what he does.

It is a serious matter when you choose to accept Yahushua as your salvation and make a vow to agree to the covenant Yah lays out for us in His Word, It is not be taken lightly.

Romans 6:16 (NKJV)
Dead to Sin, Alive to Yah
16 Do you not know that to whom you present yourselves slaves to obey, you are that one’s slaves whom you obey, whether of sin leading to death, or of obedience leading to righteousness?

It is a matter of life or death…
So then is the fear of Yah, the wisdom of that knowledge and the understanding of your choice.

John 14:21 (NKJV)
21 He who has My commandments and keeps them, it is he who loves Me. And he who loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I will love him and manifest Myself to him.”

The Way to The Light

The Way to The Light

(All scriptures is from the New King James Bible)

My name is Yahalomit Yisra'el, this blog is dedicated to the growth, uplifting and edification through the knowledge of "The Word." As well as the worship, glorification and praise to The Most High, Yah. Everything I do is to glorify and praise His name, and to strive to be the servant He has called me to be. HalleluYah!

As I have come into the knowledge of His true name and the name of His son, Yahushua, I will be the using the Set-Apart Names in reference to the Father and the Son. I know there are some people who still struggle with the Father’s name. However, if you are truly a believer of His word, then perhaps this will help some of you at least reconsider and research this on your own. I urge you to study and research the things you question, you do yourself a disservice when you do not seek what you do not understand, especially when your soul is at stake. It is the only way you will learn and strengthen your faith and understanding. There are several scriptures in the New King James Bible (bible gateway.com has a NKJV translation) that states in several scriptures using the Father’s true name.

Psalm 68:4 (NKJV)
Sing to God, sing praises to His name;
Extol Him who rides on the clouds,[a]
By His name YAH,
And rejoice before Him.And rejoice before Him

Isaiah 12:2 (NKJV)
2 Behold, God is my salvation,
I will trust and not be afraid;
‘For Yah, the Lord, is my strength and song;
He also has become my salvation.’”

Isaiah 38:11 (NKJV)

                                                  I said,
“I shall not see Yah,
The Lord in the land of the living;
I shall observe man no more among the inhabitants of the world.

Isaiah 26:4 (NKJV)
4 Trust in the Lord forever,
For in YAH, the Lord, is everlasting strength

In this walk there are many struggles and answers we look to in order to help guide our paths to following the will of Yah. Unfortunately, there are many winding roads and detours to the truth and for the babes (new), this can prove to be quite challenging. However, there is only one true path that will strengthen our faith and help us to understand what we must do to please Yah as we strive to receive His spirit in our lives and that is to completely trust in His Word. First we must pray and ask Yah to guide us into all knowledge of the truth.

We must understand that this is not something we can do under our own will, we must first turn over our will and believe that He will guide us. In giving up our will, we then give Yah, through the sacrifice of His Son, Yahushua to come into our being to teach and change the worldly person which held us captive to the sin of the world.

John 14:6
Yahushua said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.

This opens up the door for Him to begin to change that worldly person within us. The struggle some often face does not come from Yahushua, it comes from their disobedience in trying to hold on to their worldly selves.

Daily we must seek Yah's guidance to crucify the flesh by opening up the word and allowing the Set apart Spirit to work in us. The scriptures are our guide to walk as Yahushua walked; the apostles tell us what we must do, and even the disobedience of the ancient Israelites carries lessons that will help us strengthen our walk.

Psalm 119:99-103
99 I have more understanding than all my teachers,
For Your testimonies are my meditation.
100 I understand more than the ancients,
Because I keep Your precepts.
101 I have restrained my feet from every evil way,
That I may keep Your word.
102 I have not departed from Your judgments,
For You Yourself have taught me.
103 How sweet are Your words to my taste,
Sweeter than honey to my mouth!

James 1:5-6
5 If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of Yah, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him.
6 But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind.

John 14:26
26 But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you.

We must first understand that "sin" is the transgression of the law!

1 John 3:4
4 Whoever commits sin also commits lawlessness, and sin is lawlessness.

Strong's concordance 458

Definition: lawlessness, iniquity, disobedience, sin.

lawlessness; the utter disregard for God's law (His written and living Word)

If we understand that sin is a total disregard for Yah's laws. Then we know we must be in sync with Yah's word or we are in danger of being in sin and if you haven’t studied the laws you won’t realize it. The laws are found in the first five books of the bible called “The Torah.”

Galations 3:10
10 For as many as are of the works of the law are under the curse; for it is written, “Cursed is everyone who does not continue in all things which are written in the book of the law, to do them.”

There are many aspects of the law, most people if they do not read the scriptures for themselves are never aware of them. Most people have gotten to be comfortable followers of what their shepherds say instead of seeking and learning for themselves.  Most religions teach that only the New Testament applies to their salvation. But what if it doesn’t? What if the Old Testament is just as important as the new? Consider this, would you buy a History book and only read from the back of that book to obtain the full knowledge of the whole book? It doesn’t make sense, does it? You would be depriving yourself of the most important knowledge, because the beginning and middle is where the meat of its contents lies. The bible is Yah’s instructions on how we are to live our lives according to His will!

Galations 5:3
3 And I testify again to every man who becomes circumcised that he is a debtor to keep the whole law.

Dictionary.com
Definition: circumcised-to purify spiritually.

Definition: debtor-a person who is in debt.

The above scripture clearly states that we are still required to keep the law!

What does Yah say about people who are transgressing His laws?
Well, first we have to understand how we differentiate between one who sins with one who is following Yah's laws.

John 8:31-32
31 Then Yahushua said to those Jews who believed Him, “If you abide in My word, you are My disciples indeed. 32 And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”

Romans 8:5-9
5 For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit, the things of the Spirit. 6 For to be carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. 7 Because the carnal mind is enmity against Yah; for it is not subject to the law of Yah, nor indeed can be. 8 So then, those who are in the flesh cannot please Yah.
9 But you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of Yah dwells in you. Now if anyone does not have the Spirit of Messiah, he is not His.

Definition: enmity-mutual hatred or ill will

Definition: carnal-giving to or relating to crude bodily pleasures and appetites.

So according to the above scriptures if you are operating in the flesh, you cannot be following Yah's laws. If you are operating in the spirit, you are walking in the spirit, in other words living and walking righteously in His laws.

How can you tell you are walking in the flesh or in the spirit?

There are certain traits that occupy a person who walks in the flesh.

 Galatians 5:19-21
19 Now the works of the flesh are evident, which are: adultery,[a] fornication, uncleanness, lewdness, 20 idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies, 21 envy, murders,[b] drunkenness, revelries, and the like; of which I tell you beforehand, just as I also told you in time past, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.

If you harbor these traits, you obviously have more work to do to solidify your standing as a servant of Yah. You should seek prayer and ask Yah to deliver you from these traits. He is able, if you truly desire to.

As with the works of the flesh, in contrast there are characteristics of a person who walks in the spirit.

Galations 5:22-26
22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law. 24 And those who are Messiah’s have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. 25 If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit. 26 Let us not become conceited, provoking one another, envying one another.

The Word of Yah goes into many examples and solutions to the spiritual battle between the spirit and flesh. It is an integral part of our walk. It is very important to understand this in order to put to rest the old man and to recognize the difference between the two in your own salvation, as well as the spiritual warfare you will surely encounter from the adversary. There will be scriptures in upcoming posts on this subject.

It is a wonderful thing to come into the knowledge of who you are, but it is only a small part of the journey. The more important understanding of this walk is to prepare our heart and mind to becoming the servant that Yah wills us to be. We must be obedient to His word, to seek and personally know the Father and the Son on a level so that we are ever-growing and learning in His truth and understanding, not our own. That we perfect our spirit in such a way that we are a righteous example of the image and likeness of Yah and Yahushua by keeping the laws and commandments, by exhibiting the faith and belief that will set us apart from the wickedness of this world and NOT profaning His name to unbelievers! We are to be a light unto this world in all our ways, conduct, speech and spirit!

There is some confusion to what that means, to be a light unto this world.

Who is the ruler of this world?

Yahushua warns…

John 14:30
30 I will no longer talk much with you, for the ruler of this world is coming, and he has nothing in Me

Matthew 4:8-9
8 Again, the devil took Him up on an exceedingly high mountain, and showed Him all the kingdoms of the world and their glory. 9 And he said to Him, “All these things I will give You if You will fall down and worship me.”

According to the above scriptures, the ruler of this world is Satan, if we are partaking of the traditions, lusts, idolatry and other wicked shenanigans of this world we are not set apart are we?

When a person professes to the world that that they are a servant of Yah, yet their conduct, speech and attitude does not align with the fruit of the spirit. Then they are profaning the name of Yah to His lost sheep, to gentiles and turning away potential souls, in some cases irreparably. There will be a price to pay for those guilty of this sin.

Definition: profaning-to treat something sacred with abuse, irreverence or contempt.

Romans 2:24-26

24 For “the name of God is blasphemed among the Gentiles because of you,” as it is written.
25 For circumcision is indeed profitable if you keep the law; but if you are a breaker of the law, your circumcision has become uncircumcision

How are we, Yah’s chosen to relate to worldly matters?
.

1John 2:15

15 Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him.

As you can see there is no confusion in Yah’s word, only the disobedience and rebellion in those against Yah’s word that has always been the perpetual problem.

It is my solemn prayer, Yah willing, this blog be a light to guide you to the Word of Yah, to be steadfast and righteous in your walk, to not stray here or there, but keep your eye on the crown. To abide in Yah's word and Yahushua's teaching, examine yourself, implement what you learn, grow in humbleness and seek with all your heart every message the word has to offer. I encourage you to study further the scriptures presented and continue on your own to read and pray for understanding if you need it, believe me, Yah will answer!

The scriptures posted will be on various subjects that will strengthen, encourage and help you to endure in this walk of obedience.

Until next time.....

  Ephesians 5:8

Walk in Light

8 For you were once darkness, but now you are light in Yah. Walk as children of light.

2 Timothy 3:16-17

16 All Scripture is given by inspiration of Yah, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, 17 that the man of Yah may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.
