Faith

Faith
Hebrews 11:6

6 But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to Faith must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.

One of my most favorite scriptures on faith is Hebrews chapter 11. In this walk it is impossible to even begin to understand the importance of this spiritual journey without faith. It is the foundation in which all that matters is; because you must base your belief on things that is not tangible to the human eye or touch. A belief that is as true to you as the clouds in the sky or the birds in the trees that you see by sight. A belief so strong you will not be swayed by anything or anyone that will keep you from the path of His reward of the kingdom. A belief to know when you follow without question the will of Yah and the teachings of Yahushua the rewards of His promise will be fulfilled.
Hebrews 11:1
Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

This is where your beliefs are tested and tried true, for if you trust, believe and seek with all your heart the wonderful things Yah wishes to show you through Yahushua, He will reveal Himself to you.

John 10:25-27
25 Yahushua answered them, “I told you, and you do not believe. The works that I do in My Father’s name, they bear witness of Me. 26 But you do not believe, because you are not of My sheep, as I said to you. 27 My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me.

This all comes when you begin to develop a listening ear when Yah speaks to you, so you will recognize His voice and be obedient just as the elders of the biblical records did when they were called to task. Is your faith that strong? Are you obedient to His word? Have you taken the necessary steps to grow in your walk by studying His word and putting His laws and statutes into action? Have you self-examined and judged yourself?

2 Peter 1:5-11(NKJV)

Fruitful Growth in the Faith

5 But also for this very reason, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue, to virtue knowledge, 6 to knowledge self-control, to self-control perseverance, to perseverance godliness, 7 to godliness brotherly kindness, and to brotherly kindness love. 8 For if these things are yours and abound, you will be neither barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Master Yahushua, Messiah. 9 For he who lacks these things is shortsighted, even to blindness, and has forgotten that he was cleansed from his old sins.
10 Therefore, brethren, be even more diligent to make your call and election sure, for if you do these things you will never stumble; 11 for so an entrance will be supplied to you abundantly into the everlasting kingdom of our Master and Savior Yahushua, Messiah.

The examples in the following scriptures below will help you to achieve the level of faith we all hope to aspire to.
Hebrews chapter 11 goes on to give examples of the faith held by our ancestors down through the ages, such as Abel, Enoch, Noah, Abraham and many,
many more.

Hebrews 11:4-12
4 By faith Abel offered to Yah a more excellent sacrifice than Cain, through which he obtained witness that he was righteous, Yah testifying of his gifts; and through it he being dead still speaks.
5 By faith Enoch was taken away so that he did not see death, “and was not found, because Yah had taken him”; for before he was taken he had this testimony, that he pleased Yah. 6 But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to Yah must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.
7 By faith Noah, being divinely warned of things not yet seen, moved with godly fear, prepared an ark for the saving of his household, by which he condemned the world and became heir of the righteousness which is according to faith.

Faithful Abraham

8 By faith Abraham obeyed when he was called to go out to the place which he would receive as an inheritance. And he went out, not knowing where he was going. 9 By faith he dwelt in the land of promise as in a foreign country, dwelling in tents with Isaac and Jacob, the heirs with him of the same promise; 10 for he waited for the city which has foundations, whose builder and maker is Yah.
11 By faith Sarah herself also received strength to conceive seed, and she bore a child when she was past the age, because she judged Him faithful who had promised. 12 Therefore from one man, and him as good as dead, were born as many as the stars of the sky in multitude—innumerable as the sand which is by the seashore.

The Faith of the Patriarchs

17 By faith Abraham, when he was tested, offered up Isaac, and he who had received the promises offered up his only begotten son, 18 of whom it was said, “In Isaac your seed shall be called,” 19 concluding that Yah was able to raise him up, even from the dead, from which he also received him in a figurative sense.

20 By faith Isaac blessed Jacob and Esau concerning things to come.
21 By faith Jacob, when he was dying, blessed each of the sons of Joseph, and worshiped, leaning on the top of his staff.
22 By faith Joseph, when he was dying, made mention of the departure of the children of Israel, and gave instructions concerning his bones.

The Faith of Moses

23 By faith Moses, when he was born, was hidden three months by his parents, because they saw he was a beautiful child; and they were not afraid of the king’s command.
24 By faith Moses, when he became of age, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh’s daughter, 25 choosing rather to suffer affliction with the people of Yah than to enjoy the passing pleasures of sin, 26 esteeming the reproach of Christ greater riches than the treasures in Egypt; for he looked to the reward.
27 By faith he forsook Egypt, not fearing the wrath of the king; for he endured as seeing Him who is invisible. 28 By faith he kept the Passover and the sprinkling of blood, lest he who destroyed the firstborn should touch them.
29 By faith they passed through the Red Sea as by dry land, whereas the Egyptians, attempting to do so, were drowned.

By Faith They Overcame

30 By faith the walls of Jericho fell down after they were encircled for seven days. 31 By faith the harlot Rahab did not perish with those who did not believe, when she had received the spies with peace.
32 And what more shall I say? For the time would fail me to tell of Gideon and Barak and Samson and Jephthah, also of David and Samuel and the prophets: 33 who through faith subdued kingdoms, worked righteousness, obtained promises, stopped the mouths of lions, 34 quenched the violence of fire, escaped the edge of the sword, out of weakness were made strong, became valiant in battle, turned to flight the armies of the aliens. 35 Women received their dead raised to life again.
Others were tortured, not accepting deliverance, that they might obtain a better resurrection. 36 Still others had trial of mockings and scourgings, yes, and of chains and imprisonment. 37 They were stoned, they were sawn in two, were tempted, were slain with the sword. They wandered about in sheepskins and goatskins, being destitute, afflicted, tormented— 38 of whom the world was not worthy. They wandered in deserts and mountains, in dens and caves of the earth.
39 And all these, having obtained a good testimony through faith, did not receive the promise, 40 Yah having provided something better for us, that they should not be made perfect apart from us.

When we have faith in Yah and Yahushua and we seek Yah with all our heart He will manifest Himself to us, He will provide to us tangible proof of His existence in our lives and this will strengthen our faith and in that belief we will share His power and esteem to others as a witness.

Yahushua

Yahushua
(Yah’s salvation)

1 John 4:9 (NKJV)
9 In this the love of Yah was manifested toward us, that Yah has sent His only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through Him.

Romans 10:9 (NKJV)

9 that if you confess with your mouth the Messiah, Yahushua and believe in your heart that Yah has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.

The Old Testament spoke of Yahushua’s coming and John the Baptist spoke of His coming as well.

Isaiah 53:4-5 (NKJV)

4 Surely He has borne our griefs
And carried our sorrows;
Yet we esteemed Him stricken,
Smitten by Yah, and afflicted.
5 But He was wounded for our transgressions,
He was bruised for our iniquities;
The chastisement for our peace was upon Him,
And by His stripes we are healed.

Isaiah 9:6 (NKJV)

6 For unto us a Child is born,
Unto us a Son is given;
And the government will be upon His shoulder.
And His name will be called
Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God,
Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

John 1:26-27

26 John answered them, saying, “I baptize with water, but there stands One among you whom you do not know. 27 It is He who, coming after me, is preferred before me, whose sandal strap I am not worthy to loose.”

We also understand that Yahushua, the Messiah was sent to save the sinner, not those who were already walking in the ways of the law.

Matthew 9:10-13

10 Now it happened, as Yahushua sat at the table in the house, that behold, many tax collectors and sinners came and sat down with Him and His disciples. 11 And when the Pharisees saw it, they said to His disciples, “Why does your Teacher eat with tax collectors and sinners?”
12 When Yahushua heard that, He said to them, “Those who are well have no need of a physician, but those who are sick. 13 But go and learn what this means: ‘I desire mercy and not sacrifice.’For I did not come to call the righteous, but sinners, to repentance.”

Yah does not want anyone to perish in their sins.

2 Peter 3:9

9 The Most High is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance.

There is a penalty for those who choose to continue in sin.

Romans 6:23

23 For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of Yah is eternal life in The Messiah, Yahushua our Master.

Romans 6:3-4

3 Or do you not know that as many of us as were baptized into Yahushua were baptized into His death? 4 Therefore we were buried with Him through baptism into death, that just as Messiah was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.

Romans 6:16-19

16 Do you not know that to whom you present yourselves slaves to obey, you are that one’s slaves whom you obey, whether of sin leading to death, or of obedience leading to righteousness? 17 But Yah be thanked that though you were slaves of sin, yet you obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine to which you were delivered. 18 And having been set free from sin, you became slaves of righteousness. 19 I speak in human terms because of the weakness of your flesh. For just as you presented your members as slaves of uncleanness, and of lawlessness leading to more lawlessness, so now present your members as slaves of righteousness for holiness.

What does the above scripture mean?

2 Corinthians 5:17

17 Therefore, if anyone is in Messiah, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.
18 Now all things are of Yah, who has reconciled us to Himself through Yahushua, Messiah and has given us the ministry of reconciliation,

Definition: reconciliation- the process of making consistent or compatible.

Ephesians 4:17-22

The New Man

17 This I say, therefore, and testify in the Lord, that you should no longer walk as the rest of the Gentiles walk, in the futility of their mind, 18 having their understanding darkened, being alienated from the life of Yah, because of the ignorance that is in them, because of the blindness of their heart; 19 who, being past feeling, have given themselves over to lewdness, to work all uncleanness with greediness.
20 But you have not so learned Messiah, 21 if indeed you have heard Him and have been taught by Him, as the truth is in Yahushua: 22 that you put off, concerning your former conduct, the old man which grows corrupt according to the deceitful lusts, 23 and be renewed in the spirit of your mind, 24 and that you put on the new man which was created according to Yah, in true righteousness and holiness.

1 Peter 3:18-22

Yahushua’s Suffering and Ours

18 For Messiah also suffered once for sins, the just for the unjust, that He might bring us to Yah, being put to death in the flesh but made alive by the Spirit, 19 by whom also He went and preached to the spirits in prison, 20 who formerly were disobedient, when once the Divine longsuffering waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was being prepared, in which a few, that is, eight souls, were saved through water. 21 There is also an antitype which now saves us—baptism (not the removal of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward Yah), through the resurrection of Yahushua, Messiah, 22 who has gone into heaven and is at the right hand of Yah, angels and authorities and powers having been made subject to Him.

John 17:1-6

Yahushua Prays for Himself

17 Yahushua spoke these words, lifted up His eyes to heaven, and said: “Father, the hour has come. Glorify Your Son, that Your Son also may glorify You, 2 as You have given Him authority over all flesh, that He should give eternal life to as many as You have given Him. 3 And this is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Yahushua, Messiah whom You have sent. 4 I have glorified You on the earth. I have finished the work which You have given Me to do. 5 And now, O Father, glorify Me together with Yourself, with the glory which I had with You before the world was.

John 17:20-26

Yahushua Prays for All Believers

20 “I do not pray for these alone, but also for those who will believe in Me through their word; 21 that they all may be one, as You, Father, are in Me, and I in You; that they also may be one in Us, that the world may believe that You sent Me. 22 And the glory which You gave Me I have given them, that they may be one just as We are one: 23 I in them, and You in Me; that they may be made perfect in one, and that the world may know that You have sent Me, and have loved them as You have loved Me.
24 “Father, I desire that they also whom You gave Me may be with Me where I am, that they may behold My glory which You have given Me; for You loved Me before the foundation of the world. 25 O righteous Father! The world has not known You, but I have known You; and these have known that You sent Me. 26 And I have declared to them Your name, and will declare it, that the love with which You loved Me may be in them, and I in them.”

John 18:37 (NKJV)

37 Pilate therefore said to Him, “Are You a king then?”
Yahushua answered, “You say rightly that I am a king. For this cause I was born, and for this cause I have come into the world, that I should be
witness to the truth. Everyone who is of the truth hears My voice.”

So in summation this is what Yahushua’s sacrifice means to the lawless.

Ephesians 2:13-16

13 But now in Messiah, Yahushua you who once were far off have been brought near by the blood of Messiah.

Yahushua Our Peace

14 For He Himself is our peace, who has made both one, and has broken down the middle wall of separation, 15 having abolished in His flesh the enmity, that is, the law of commandments contained in ordinances, so as to create in Himself one new man from the two, thus making peace, 16 and that He might reconcile them both to Yah in one body through the cross, thereby putting to death the enmity.
