The Fear of Yah
Proverbs 9:10 (NKJV)
“The fear of Yah is the beginning of
wisdom,
And the knowledge of the Set-apart One is
understanding.
Definition: Fear- reverence for Yah
To begin to understand or commit to the Torah (the law-
first five books of the bible) is to have reverence for the Almighty Yah. If
you do not have faith Yah is real and the Creator of all things and that
Yahushua died for our sins you will not take seriously what you must do to
receive the gift of salvation. This is the beginning of wisdom and the understanding
to listen to the voice of Yah, to walk as Yahushua did and apply what The Word
teaches us to do in order to obtain righteousness through the power of the
Set-apart Spirit.
The Essence of the Law
Deuteronomy 10:12-13
12 “And now, Israel, what does the Most High, Yah require
of you, but to fear the Most High, Yah to walk in all His ways and to love Him,
to serve the Most High, Yah with all your heart and with all your soul, 13 and
to keep the commandments of Yah and His statutes which I command you today for
your good?
Deuteronomy 6:6-9
6 “And these words which I command you today shall be in
your heart. 7 You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk
of them when you sit in your house, when you walk by the way, when you lie
down, and when you rise up. 8 You shall bind them as a sign on your hand, and
they shall be as frontlets between your eyes. 9 You shall write them on the
doorposts of your house and on your gates.
Matthew 22:37-40 (NKJV)
35 Then one of them, a lawyer, asked Him a
question, testing Him, and saying, 36 “Teacher, which is the great commandment
in the law?”
37 Yahushua said to him, “‘You shall love
Yah with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.’ 38 This
is the first and great commandment. 39 And the second is like it: ‘You shall
love your neighbor as yourself.’ 40 On these two commandments hang all the Law
and the Prophets.”
1 Timothy 1:5 (NKJV)
5 Now the purpose of the commandment is love from a pure
heart, from a good conscience, and from sincere faith,
These are just a few of the scriptures that encompass
some of the laws and commandments of Yah that we must follow diligently, teach
them to our children and apply them to our life. Without them how can we be set
apart from the unrighteous? It is obvious without Yahushua’s example and the
set apart spirit of Yah we can’t do it on our own. Yahushua spoke of sending
the Set-apart spirit to help teach and guide us to all truth.
John 15:26 (NKJV)
26 “But when the Helper comes, whom I shall send to you
from the Father, the Spirit of truth who proceeds from the Father, He will
testify of Me.
Acts 2 (NKJV)
Coming of the Set apart Spirit
2 When the Day of Pentecost had fully come, they were all
with one accord in one place. 2 And suddenly there came a sound from heaven, as
of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled the whole house where they were
sitting. 3 Then there appeared to them divided tongues, as of fire, and one sat
upon each of them. 4 And they were all filled with the Set-apart Spirit and
began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.
It is the fear of Yah that will inspire us to remain
steadfast and obedient to what is expected of us according to His Word.
James 1:21-23 (NKJV)
Doers—Not Hearers Only
21 Therefore lay aside all filthiness and overflow of
wickedness, and receive with meekness the implanted word, which is able to save
your souls.
22 But be doers of the word, and not hearers only,
deceiving yourselves. 23 For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer,
he is like a man observing his natural face in a mirror; 24 for he observes
himself, goes away, and immediately forgets what kind of man he was. 25 But he
who looks into the perfect law of liberty and continues in it, and is not a
forgetful hearer but a doer of the work, this one will be blessed in what he
does.
It is a serious matter when you choose to accept Yahushua
as your salvation and make a vow to agree to the covenant Yah lays out for us
in His Word, It is not be taken lightly.
Romans 6:16 (NKJV)
Dead to Sin, Alive to Yah
16 Do you not know that to whom you present yourselves
slaves to obey, you are that one’s slaves whom you obey, whether of sin leading
to death, or of obedience leading to righteousness?
It is a matter of life or death…
So then is the fear of Yah, the wisdom of that knowledge
and the understanding of your choice.
John 14:21 (NKJV)
21 He who has My commandments and keeps them, it is he
who loves Me. And he who loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I will love
him and manifest Myself to him.”
