The UnTamed Tongue

James 3:5-6

 5 Even so the tongue is a little member and boasts great things. See how great a forest a little fire kindles! 6 And the tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity. The tongue is so set among our members that it defiles the whole body, and sets on fire the course of nature; and it is set on fire by hell.

Proverbs 12:18

18 There is one who speaks like the piercings of a sword,

But the tongue of the wise promotes health.

Proverbs 15:2

2 The tongue of the wise uses knowledge rightly,

But the mouth of fools pours forth foolishness.

 James 1:26

26 If anyone among you thinks he is religious, and does not bridle his tongue but deceives his own heart, this one’s 

religion is useless.

8 But no man can tame the tongue. It is an unruly evil, full of deadly poison. 9 With it we bless our YAH and Father, and with it we curse men, who have been made in the similitude of YAH. 10 Out of the same mouth proceed blessing and cursing. My brethren, these things ought not to be so. 

 Psalm 140:3

3 They sharpen their tongues like a serpent; the poison of asps is under their lips. Selah

Psalm 19:14

14 Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart Be acceptable in Your sight, O YAH, my strength and my Redeemer.

 

Colossians 4:6

6 Let your speech always be with grace, seasoned with salt, that you may know how you ought to answer each one.

14 Depart from evil and do good; Seek peace and pursue it.
